“Our two countries’ cooperation is at an extraordinary level, but there is always room to improve our relations”, President Nikolić underlined. In addition to large infrastructure projects already underway, Mr. Nikolić suggested that the cooperation should materialize through investment in joint production of food in particular, further connections between cities and local self-governments, strengthening ties in the areas of culture and tourism development, where the establishment of direct flights between Serbia and China would play a particularly important role.

“That the relations between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China and those between our two peoples are very good is testified to by the increasingly frequent visits at the highest level. China is immensely pleased with Serbia’s decision to set up a governmental body with an insight into the ever-diversifying cooperation between the two countries, and tasked with coordinating a range of activities so that the cooperation could grow stronger. I have come to Serbia with a clear goal in mind – to find partners for specific future projects and familiarize myself with areas offering investment opportunities in order to be able to make clear recommendations to our entrepreneurs. Businessmen from China’s provinces, and from Zhejiang in particular, are highly entrepreneurial and famous in all of China for their courage to invest in new projects. President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, who was at the helm of Zhejiang, has clearly outlined directions for further solidification of Serbia-China cooperation, and it is to this purpose that the Province will be particularly devoted. China is prepared to start manufacturing in Serbia, for it is possible to export from Serbia worldwide. I believe that our concerted efforts should be beneficial both to our two countries and their citizens. I am pleased for the opportunity to hear from the Mayor of Kragujevac about specific proposals and projects, which can be implemented in the coming months already”, Mr. Yuan Jiajun emphasized in the meeting.

“The City of Kragujevac has prepared several projects that I am now going to present to you with a request that interested partners from Zhejiang be informed about them. We wish to encourage other local self-governments from China to present their opportunities and projects, which would cement the strategic cooperation existing between China and Serbia”, Mr. Radomir Nikolić, the Mayor of Kragujevac, highlighted in the meeting.

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Serbia Li Manchang and Members of the National Council also attended the meeting.
