“The political relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation are at an extraordinary level. I would like us to upgrade the economic relations to the same level. The volume of Serbian exports has recorded significant growth the first seven months of 2017, and we wish to keep up this trend. We are interested in new projects, new opportunities and Russia’s plans for Serbia-based business operations. Serbia is interested in greater presence of Russian companies and Russian capital, and it is particularly important to us that representatives of hi-tech companies should come to Serbia, which is already getting industrial parks ready for them. Both the National Council and the Government of Serbia, to which it belongs, will do everything in their power in order for your companies to be met with a stable and predictable business climate. We aim to attract new Russian investors and new Russian companies based on your companies’ positive experience of doing business in Serbia”, Council President Nikolić underlined.

Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexander Chepurin pointed out that Russia was experiencing economic growth and that, in the future, special attention would be dedicated to the economy’s digitalization, energy and public transport vehicles. “The trade exchange with Serbia is on the upswing, it is in our interest to expand the rail transport cooperation in particular, in order to make Serbia part of major projects. Russian companies and Serbian entrepreneurs attach huge importance to the structure of the cooperation mechanism, to the benefit of our future trade”, Ambassador Chepurin underscored.

Representatives of major Russian companies doing business in Serbia acquainted Council President Nikolić with the results of their business activities so far, and with the concrete plans for their future operations in Serbia.
