Council President Nikolić underlined that the possible strategic partnership between the Mining and Smelting Combine “Bor” and “Zijin” would further cement the Sino-Serbian friendship, following the successful privatization of the Smederevo Steel Mill.

The representatives of “Zijin” pointed out that the company had long-term goals, adding that business policy was its distinctive feature. Namely, the company devotes much attention to environmental protection, and it strives to meet both parties’ interests in the countries where it carries out business operations, as it is not solely focused on maximizing profits. “Zijin” will continue its further research with the aim of helping “Bor” to become the most successful mining and smelting combine in the world. “Zijin” representatives thanked Mr. Nikolić for his assistance in accelerating the MSC “Bor” privatization process, and for fully considering the possibilities of reaching an agreement between “Zijin” and MSC “Bor”.
