“The results achieved in China’s economic growth are impressive and China’s progress is increasingly contributing to the development of Serbia. Yesterday we discussed the Bilateral Cooperation Plan with the NDRC delegation. Serbian Government Ministries are fully prepared to engage in an even more intensified cooperation with China. The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Mining and Energy have had the most extensive cooperation so far, owing to infrastructural projects developed in tandem with China. We need to promote our cooperation further in other areas, too, especially in sectors of agriculture, tourism, culture, science, education, sports and trade, as Serbia has a free trade with almost all countries of the world. I would like our cooperation to be made complete with investment in Serbia-based joint production. I am aware that you yesterday agreed on a closer collaboration between Fujian and Vojvodina and discussed the possibility of Novi Sad and Quanzhou becoming the sister cities. Vojvodina is a Serbian province with very fertile soil and excellent development prospects, and the Government of Serbia provides all the support needed for its further development”, Mr. Nikolić stressed.

“Serbia has been the first country in this part of Europe to support President Xi’s Belt and Road initiative and play an active role in the 16+1 mechanism. It is common knowledge in China that you and President Xi helped to create and put in place the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, and that you are still committed to deepening our all-round friendship. We want Fujian to spearhead the cooperation with Serbia and our visit is specifically aimed at fostering closer cooperation between Fujian and Vojvodina, helping Novi Sad and Quanzhou to become sister cities, conducting market research and identifying Serbian partners for cooperation with companies from our Province. The investment and trade forum we attended yesterday was very inspiring for Fujian entrepreneurs”, Mr. Wang Tianming emphasized.

Moreover, Mr. Wang Tianming conveyed to Mr. Nikolić cordial greetings from the Fujian CPC Secretary General, Mr. Yu Weiguo, whom Mr. Nikolić met during his recent visit to Fujian.

Representatives of the following Fujian companies also attended the meeting with Council President Nikolić: Fujian Minfa Aluminium Inc., Quanzhou Shunfa Stone Industrial Co. Ltd., Quanzhou Fire-control Equipment Co. Ltd., Fujian Yihui Group Co. Ltd., Quanzhou Zhongrong Curtainwall & Decoration Co. Ltd., Fujian Meifu Environmental Protection Technology Co. Ltd., and Fujian Teci Porcelain Bathroom Accessories Industrial Co. Ltd.
