“Serbia is fortunate to have the great friendship of President Xi Jinping, who has been following with great interest the outcomes of joint Sino-Serbian cooperation projects. Chinese investments such as Hesteel-Smederevo and Zijin-Bor act as a catalyst for our two countries’ successful cooperation in the future. With Chinese car tire factory and spare parts manufacturing company being built in Serbia, it is very heartening to note the Sino-Serbian transition from infrastructural projects to production capacity cooperation. Belgrade and other Serbian cities have made their doors wide open not only to economic cooperation with China, but also to cooperation in education, sports, culture and tourism. I would be glad to see the twinning of Baoshan with some Serbian cities or municipalities, as well as the intensification of local-level cooperation”, the Council President underscored.

“The Chinese highly appreciate your personal contribution to boosting the cooperation between our two countries. We in China understand the Serbian people, for we share the same national interest – preservation of territorial integrity and sovereignty. Our bilateral relations are at a historic high, they have been developing in all directions lately, not only at the highest political level, but at the local level, too. Our goal is to strengthen the Baoshan-Belgrade cooperation in the areas of sport, culture and education. Baoshan is home to Bao Wu Steel Group, a steel manufacturer, the largest steel products trade platform and a high-performing privately-owned Dahua Real Estate Group, specializing in real-estate development and refurbishment in China and Australia. Both Baoshan and Belgrade are undergoing economic transformation and we are looking forward to working together with you in every way possible in the future”, Ms. Chen Xiaojie emphasized.
